Fun Summer Reading

Natalie has a bunch of different books she likes to read, such as Nancy Drew, but it's worth mentioning that she's most enjoying reading through the, Treasury of Illustrated Classics, 36-book box set I picked up at Costco a couple years ago.  I tried reading these to the children last year, but they were only interested in classical education history books (of which I also highly recommend).  I recommend this medium sized print series for beginning/intermediate readers.  The descriptive writing enjoyably enhances the readers vocabulary.  Each book is 200 pages, and Natalie tears through a book in about a day--she's almost finished with the series.  I'm excited she's enjoying & understanding such important literature.
Note: These books are adapted versions with all unpleasantnesses eliminated, & happy endings given.

You're such a good mom. Ashley's a big reader but I'm finding it really hard to get the boys into reading.
