Mod Podge

Last week I was talking with a couple friends about our excessively rocky beaches this summer in Orange County, caused by winter storms.  I told them that we've dragged home, a couple sand buckets full of carefully chosen rocks, to decorate and place in our garden.  It's a fun project to do, but what stood out to me, is that they didn't know about my key finishing touch, Mod Podge.  I have to confess that I didn't even know about it until my awesome cousin Monique clued me in a few years ago!  It's been around since the 60's, and is very useful.

So, here's my tidbit to share with you.

Originally, Monique shared with my that she uses it to attach paper labels to her plastic bins for better organization.

Later, I made Prayer Rocks for my Sunday School class.  The kids and I painted the rocks with glow-in-the-dark acrylic paints, wrote the words "Don't forget to... Pray" with a Sharpie, and then sealed the rocks with Mod Podge.  I sealed the girls rocks with the Sparkle Mod Podge.  So cute!

Since then, I've even used the Mod Podge to adhere paper labels to buckets I gave to the kids on our baseball team this year, as a gift from the coach (me).  I printed their names, and our team logo.  We used the 1-gallon paint buckets to keep gear in, and hold balls at practice time.  Having the labels and logos added a nice personal touch.

Use your imagination!  :-)

Very creative! Will have to try some of that.

Mod Podge is awesome. It has become one of the 'essentials'.
